Do you still have the challenge you wrote down or brought to mind from last week?
The second step lies in changing your belief of how you judge the situation.
After I had learned to change my perception of viewing my daughter’s life as a blessing rather than a burden, the next step that followed was changing my beliefs.
One day I was down on the floor with my daughter Mikayla who has significant special needs. I had this moment where I said to myself: “You know what…I will never tell Mikayla what she can’t do. I will never tell her that she can’t walk. I will never tell her that she can’t talk. As her father, I would never tell her what she can’t do.” What I realized that day though is that I used to tell myself what I can’t do all the time. I was telling myself that I can’t start a coaching business because I’m too young, or I can’t lose weight because I don’t have the time or anything else I wasn’t doing because I told myself that I couldn’t.
That was the day I realized that being convinced in my belief is not the same as God’s universal truth for my life. I held self-limiting beliefs that were holding me back from my potential. Changing my perception of how I viewed the situation began to have a profound impact on changing my beliefs on how I judge the situation. I began to realize the correlation of how perception informs our beliefs. I have a new model below that begins to show how the pieces start to come together of overcoming our greatest challenge. Many of you helped in the design so thank you for your input!
Next week we will talk about the next step to overcoming your greatest challenge.
